Advertising in the Royals' matchday programme has helped Thames Water get across the message of their water efficiency campaign.

A series of pictures of players have been shown in the programme in recent years - on Saturday matchwinner Shane Long appeared with the message 'Save water with me and turn off the tap when you brush your teeth.'

Lynn Launchbury, Water Efficiency Campaign Manager for Thames Water said, "We have been promoting water efficiency in partnership with Reading FC for four years and have found that advertising in the programme is an excellent way to reach a whole new audience.

"Research has shown that fans remember our advert and our message. This also supports other activities we have worked on together and demonstrates a joint commitment to water conservation."
