Hahnemann is our Reading Star!
For the second year running Marcus Hahnemann will be Reading's 'Reading Star!'
Reading Stars is a Premier league campaign to help get people reading more!
He has selected Clive Cussler's Sacred Stone as his adult book, saying, "These books are great, they are just about adventure, kind of like James Bond!
"The story is easy to follow and it is an easy read. When you are on the bus just sitting around and chilling out it's really important to have something easy that you can just pick up and read a couple of chapters really quickly.
Marcus has two sons Hunter & Austin, and he spends a great deal of time reading with them.
He said, "We are reading The Hardy Boys books right now.
"They are a series of 53 written between 1927 and 1979 under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon."
"The kids love it and every chapter ends on a cliffhanger so they are like 'Dad, Dad, one more chapter please!'"
Marcus also stresses the importance of reading generally, saying "Reading is so important to me and it leads to so many other things.
"That's what I always tell my boys because they are really into cars and I just say to them, I have to read all these books and learn for myself, otherwise you have no idea!
"You can't always ask someone, sometimes you have to find the information out for yourself, and if you really aren't a very good reader then it will take you too long to find the information that you need.
"So you've got to be able to scan through stuff and read really quickly otherwise you aren't going to be able to do the things that for me, I consider fun, and that is working on cars and tinkering and that sort of thing!"
