John Madejski has sent his personal best wishes to Kit Manager Ron Grant, who has suffered a fractured hip in an accident at home.

Ron is one of the longest-serving and most highly respected figures at the Club, having joined during Mark McGhee's management reign in the early 1990s.

The accident occurred at Ron's home in Reading after he returned from the Boxing Day fixture at West Ham United.

The Chairman said, "I was very shocked and upset to hear that Ron Grant, who is such a stalwart of the Club, has suffered an accident at home.

"I sincerely wish him a very speedy recovery and hope that his wife Vera and his family are managing with the situation.

"Everybody at the Club is thinking of Ron, and I want to send my personal best wishes for a quick recovery."
