The kit man fractured his hip in an accident at home late last week, and he has received the best wishes from everyone at the Club.

He is a very popular figure in the dressing room, and players will visit him as he recovers from an operation.

James Harper told Reading World after the Spurs game, "Ron is like my second dad, we all love him.

"He fell down the stairs and has done his hip. We'll go and see him on Monday to make sure he's alright.

"Our thoughts are with him. We've lost 6-4 today, but I'd rather do that than what Ron's done.
