Boss: We're better going forward
Steve Coppell believes the Royals are a far more effective team when they are pushing forward and going for goals.
We have scored 37 goals this season, the tenth highest figure in the Barclays Premier League. But at the same time, we have conceded 58, and only bottom club Derby have shipped more in this campaign.
We only have four clean sheets to our name, and Steve believes the best form of defence is attack.
He said, "I think we're better when we're going forward.
"At 1-0 up I think it's human nature to have an element of you that wonders whether to go for a second goal or just to stay and protect what you've got.
"Sometimes you think 'let's protect first and then go for a second'. We are better saying 'let's go forward and score more goals.'"
After going five games without scoring, Coppell's men have hit the back of the net in each of their last five matches.
Saturday's encounter with Blackburn seems likely to bring goals, with six scored in each of the last two: a 3-3 draw and a 4-2 Rovers win.
