Liam Rosenior will be putting his association with Fulham firmly to the back of his mind when the Cottagers visit Madejski Stadium today.

The right back moved to Berkshire from Craven Cottage in August and has a strong bond with the west London club, but he insisted, "It's about us and what we do.

"The fact that we're playing against Fulham makes no difference to me. My ambition is to play in the Premier League and to achieve that we need three points.

"If we play to our maximum potential we know we can get the victory, which will go a long way towards making sure we're a Premier League team next season.

"The players are feeling very positive but there's also an edge and a nastiness to us in training. That's a good thing because it shows that we care.

"We're serious, we know the position we're in and we know it's in our own hands. I'm sure we will get the results the need because we've got good players."

Liam has recently come into the Royals team after a spell on the sidelines, and stressed his ambition to continue improving. "I'm a very positive person and I want to be successful," he said. "I want to be playing for my country and in the Champions' League.

"I'm only 23 and I want to be seen as one of the Premier League's best right backs - I'm not saying I'm there yet, but it's where I want to be. That starts today and we need to stay in the Premier League for me to realise those ambitions."

He also admitted that after the game he will wish the Fulham players well on their fight against the drop, adding, "It will be hard for me if we beat them because it upsets me to see them down there.

"I've got a lot of friends at Fulham but I haven't contacted them recently because when you're struggling, sometimes you prefer not to receive those phone calls.

"But they know I've got a lot of respect for them both as players and people, especially someone like Brian McBride who has really helped me in my career.

"It's hard for me to see them down there, but I think mistakes were made. Chris Coleman never had much money to spend but then all of a sudden a lot of new players came in, which upset the rhythm of the squad."
