Ivar Ingimarsson insists the Royals players are looking for no excuses after this afternoon's defeat to Fulham.

The stand-in skipper captured the mood amongst the squad when he said, "We all have to look at ourselves.

"We have our backs against the wall and we have to see what we can do to improve and get out of the mess we're in.

"I am still confident - if I wasn't I would just quit now and nobody here is going to do that.

"There are still four teams below us and we want to keep them there. We are very close to securing our spot in the division, but we need more points.

"This is the Premier League, who said was going to be easy and we'd just walk through it?

"We knew it would be hard but we are still capable of staying in this league and I fully believe we will be playing in the Premier League next season.

"But as I said we have to take a good look at ourselves, feel disappointed today and tomorrow, but then lift ourselves up and prepare for the next game."
