Royals Chairman John Madejski celebrates his birthday today. He was born 67 years ago today in Stoke-On-Trent.

He took control of the Royals when we were back at Elm Park in 1990, and oversaw the construction of Madejski Stadium back in 1998.

Under his stewardship we reached the top flight for the first time in our 135-year history in 2006, achieving a Football League record points total in the process.

Last season we finished eighth in the Barclays Premier League, just one point off a European finish.

This campaign has been more of challenge, and we are 17th with two games to play.
