Boss: Lita's going to score
Steve Coppell has guaranteed that striker Leroy Lita will find the back of the net soon.
Leroy returned from a loan at Charlton last week, and went straight into the starting XI for the 0-0 draw at Wigan.
He came very close to scoring, nudging a cross/shot just a couple of feet wide following an incisive run. He looked sharp and threatening, and it was good to see him back in a Reading shirt. Steve said, "He fitted straight back in.
"He's got goals in him, I can guarantee that. He might not have been outstanding at Wigan but he fitted right back in to what we're about.
"He's very much been part of our club's success in the last two years. He's as proud as anybody to be playing, and privileged to be playing at this level. We all want to be here next year."
First team coach Wally Downes was happy with Leroy's display, saying, "The only thing more we could have asked for is if he'd scored.
"He worked really hard, chased it down and looked like he'd never been away.
"It reminded me of how Doyle has been recently, he's been playing well but not scoring and they both gave their all.
"It was terrific to see Leroy come back and it was a shame he just didn't get that chance.
"We created a few chances against a solid side and that was a plus. They were throwing bodies in there, it's not like we were missing them.
"Normally after a game like that you'd say it was unlucky, but at a time like this it takes on more importance."
If Leroy keeps his place in the against Tottenham, it will be his first appearance at Madejski Stadium since our loss to Bolton at the start of February. His last goal at Madejski Stadium was at home to Manchester United in the FA Cup in February 2007.
Saturday's game is a complete sell out, as is our final match of the season away to Derby County.
