Marek Matejovsky has received the Match magazine goal of the month award for March.

Marek scored a brilliant half volley at Liverpool on 15th March as we opened the scoring in a 2-1 loss.

He won the award ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was second after his backheel in a 4-0 home win against Villa.

Third place went to Obafemi Martins of Newcastle, who scored a good individual goal away to Tottenham.

The strike by Marek was his only goal in Reading colours so far. He joined from Mlada Boleslav during the january transfer window.

He has made 9(+3) appearances in a Reading shirt, and has been on the bench for our last two matches.

He is hoping to be named in the Czech Republic squad for this summer's European Championship finals in Austra and Switzerland.
