Marcus Hahnemann kept his 100th clean sheet in a Reading shirt in our 0-0 draw at Wigan on Saturday.

He has now played 265(+1) games for the Royals, and reached 100 shutouts at the JJB Stadium.

He made some very good saves against Steve Bruce's men, including one cracking reaction stop after Michael Brown's shot was deflected, forcing him in completely the other direction before he clawed it wide.

Marcus was mainly concerned with helping the team to stay away from the bottom three, but admitted that the clean sheet was extra satisfying on a personal level.

Speaking to the Club's online TV station Reading World he said, "It was doubly special for me. My parents were there, so I gave my mom my shirt, it was nice.

"It was a point gained and a point closer to safety, that's what we're strving for. We've got two left and it's all to play for. We are in the same position as Man Utd, we just want to win our last two games now.

"It's been going well for me personally, now we'll go out against Spurs and fight for three points. People keep saying things about them and how they've been playing, but it's still Spurs. They had lots of shots against Bolton, I know I will have my work cut out. I'll be busy."

Marcus was speaking at the official showcase for Kickz, our community involvement project that offers free football coaching sessions three times every week.

He said, "The project has been running six months, and this is a chance for me to show support. You can see how much it all means to these kids, and all these programmes really help give them something to do.

"The kids enjoy it so much, and I love to get involved. I do the same with my boys, give them as many opportunities as possible to find out what they want to do.

"Programmes like this provide coaches and organisation. They turn up and they love it. It's much better than watching TV, exercise is so important and constructive."
