Manager's press conference
Is it disappointing to deal with the Sonko and Fae and situation at this time?
It's no big deal, just a situation.
Is your main priority just to not let it disrupt things?
There's no priority, it's something that happened, it's been dealt with internally, it's finished. It only affects you if you bring it up. It won't affect anyone else, we just look to Spurs.
You've been a manager for 20 years, does that help in the situation you're in?
I don't know. I've had these events before. Experience is a valuable lesson, and I'll be judged on whether we get the results, that's all that matters.
Is there more emphasis on staying up because the gap between leagues is getting bigger?
No, you just do what you can. Players, managers, coaches, fans, you do your utmost and hope for a good result.
People say Spurs have got nothing to play for, does that make them more dangerous?
They're dangerous because they have so many good players. I'm not overly concerned with their attitude, I can't affect it, I'm just interested in my boys and making sure they're ready to play. They've got the motivation and the incentive, it's just a question of doing it on the day.
Are there nerves around the place?
Not at a press conference a couple of days before! At every ground there is an element of nerves come 3pm Saturday. The players want to do well, I want them to do well, the fans want them to do well. It's natural. There will be nerves in the Spurs dressing room as well.
Will you look at other results?
No, I can't control it. It's not an issue for me, I won't be checking. If we do OK, we do OK.
Is Doyle back?
He went Thursday after training, and will be back late Friday.
Have you made a decision on whether he'll play a role?
He will play a role, yes
Is that guaranteed?
He's a grown man, a professional, and if he thinks it will affect the team then I know that he will tell me. In my mind at this moment he will be part of the squad.
With Sonko and Fae, has their attitude disappointed you?
It's been dealt with, and it's finished. It's a situation that arose, the manager's got to deal with it, I've done that, it's finished. It won't detract from the concentration on the game, and it will have no effect.
Do they have a future here?
They've been suspended for 14 days, that's it, that's their punishment they've been given.
Have Spurs underachieved?
I'm not bothered. We've underachieved, we've got two games to do something about it.
Glen Little has a knock, any other problems?
No, just Glen at the moment, it's unusual at this stage to have so few injured. We're hoping he will be fit but we'll wrap him in cotton wool. He had a cameo at Wigan and twinged something.
Is Lita still in your thoughts?
Yes, yes, very much.
