Boss Steve Coppell is rueful that the Royals do not have complete control of their own destiny going into Sunday's final game of the season at Derby County.

We travel to Pride Park on Sunday knowing that Fulham have the responsibility as we battle it out with them and Birmingham City to avoid the dreaded drop.

The Cottagers must go to Portsmouth and win in order to be absolutely certain of staying up, and Steve told our online TV station Reading World, "It's a shame we're not 100% in control going into the final game and we're depending on someone else to play well for us.

"But that can't detract from the fact we've got to play well and earn a victory to give ourselves the best possible chance of retaining our status.

"It's a long hard season, it's come down to one game and we must focus on trying to win that.

"Whether it was in our hands or not, the 100% focus had to be to win. That still has to be the mentality.

"What happens elsewhere is by the by, we assume the same state of mind."

Sunday's game is completely sold out for Royals fans, but you can tune in live on our online TV station Reading World, kick off 3pm. We will also have audio commentary from both the Fulham and Birmingham games
