Manager Steve Coppell is desperate for three points against Derby County this afternoon, regardless of whether they keep us in the Barclays Premier League.

A victory against Paul Jewell's men would give us the best possible chance of avoiding relegation, but in any event the boss simply wants to win the game at Pride Park.

We have not won or scored a goal in six matches, and 52-year-old Coppell told Reading World he simply wants us to finish this 2007/8 campaign with a bang.

He said, "I just want to win for my own peace of mind. We've not done it in a while and we want to go out of the season with a win.

"Strange things can happen, we have to be prepared to play until the last minute of the last game and get the right result.

"We signed on for 38 games, and from day one it looked like this would be significant. So it proves to be."

Steve's only injury worry today is Glen Little, who only has an outside chance of playing because of a calf problem.
