Steve Coppell has met with our Director Of Football Nick Hammond today, and the manager will now take a few days to reflect on events.

In the wake of the Royals' cruel relegation down to the Championship, Coppell said he will take time to decide his own future, and what is best for the Club.

He met with Hammond this morning, and Nick told readingfc.co.uk, "Steve and I had a good discussion.

"We have agreed that he needs a few days to reflect on the situation and to decide the best way forward.

"We're going to meet again later in the week."

John Madejski has confirmed that he wants Steve to stay as manager, and if Coppell does decide to leave then it would be of his own volition.

The Chairman said, "It goes without saying that I would like him to stay.

"He has a year left on his contract, and the fans want him to stay, everyone does.

"It's 100% business as usual, he is my manager."
