Former Reading manager Tommy Burns has sadly passed away at the age of 51.

Burns lost his battle with skin cancer and died at his home. He leaves wife Rosemary and four children.

Tommy took over as Reading manager from Terry Bullivant in the 1997/8 season, and was in charge when we moved to Madejski Stadium in the summer of 1998.

He had 18 months at the helm, and brought the likes of Graeme Murty to the Club, as well as Nicky Forster.

Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to pass on sincere condolences to Tommy's family and friends at this very sad time.
