Steve Coppell has confirmed that he has no issue with Ibrahima Sonko ahead of the new season.

The Royals defender was suspended along with Emerse Fae in May following a breach of club discipline.

But Sonko will get the chance to put things right during the new season, and Coppell says the incident is now in the past.

He said, "What happened at the end of last season was the end of last season. This is a new sheet, and a new challenge.

"I hope Ibu is on board with the determination to get back into the Premiership, I know that is his desire.

"He is away with his country right now, so we will wait and see after that.

"Like I have said before, we are not trying to move anyone on. As far as I am concerned, the squad remains as it is."
