Di Matteo to present friendly test
The Royals' pre-season trip to MK Dons should be a lively occasion as it will mark Roberto Di Matteo's first home game in charge of his new club.
The former Italy international midfielder has been confirmed as Paul Ince's successor at the newly promoted Dons and will now face the Royals in his first fixture at stadiummk on Saturday 19th July.
Di Matteo was a team-mate of Michael Duberry's at Chelsea, playing together in the 1999 European Cup-Winners' Cup Final victory over Stuttgart.
Di Matteo's assistant is another former Blues team-mate of Duberry's, Eddie Newton.
The Royals' pre-season campaign gets underway with a trip to Didcot on Saturday 12th July, and concludes with the visit of Aston Villa on Saturday 2nd August.
