20-man squad for Sweden trip
Kalifa Cisse, Marek Matejovsky and Ibrahima Sonko will all be part of our 20-man squad that flies out to Sweden on Wednesday for a week-long pre-season tour.
Cisse and Sonko returned to training on Monday, having been given an extended summer break on the back of their involvement with Mali and Senegal respectively.
Matejovsky is recovering from ankle ligament damage picked up while playing for the Czech Republic in Euro 2008, and he will step up his rehab by joining us in Scandinavia.
Young goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen makes the trip, with Adam Federici away on Olympic duty with Australia. Andre Bikey is also absent because of the Beijing Olympics. Brynjar Gunnarsson and Scott Golboure are unavailable because of knee and pelvic injuries respectively. Academy graduates James Henry, Jem Karacan and Alex Pearce all get the chance to stake their claim for a first team place.
We play FC Trollhattan on Thursday, followed by Lerkils IF on Saturday then Halmstads BK on Tuesday.
