Manager Steve Coppell has been pleased with the contribution from a number of young players during the Royals' pre-season campaign.

James Henry, Jem Karacan and Alex Pearce are all part of the 20-man squad for our pre-season trip to Sweden, and the boss is happy to have talented youngsters at his disposal going into the new campaign.

Steve said, "The young players have done ever so well.

"They have made an impact, and that's important.

"I know I can trust them going into the season and it's all in front of them.

"We have a busy couple of weeks before the season now, and it's just about making sure we have as many fit players as possible when the season starts on 10th August."

"In this fortnight we've got players coming back to us, Sonko and Cisse are coming to Sweden and they'll integrate with us again."
