Irish international left winger who began his career at Crystal Palace under the management of current Royals boss Steve Coppell.
He later played under Coppell again at Brentford, and made 136 League appearances for the Bees, scoring 25 goals before leaving the West London club at the end of the 2004/2005 season to join Reading on a free.
Was used mainly as a substitute in his first season, starting three league fixtures. He came on as a replacement on 34 other occasions, scoring three goals.
In 2006/7 he established himself as a regular in the team, and also earned his first caps for his country.
