The Royals under 17 girls team have enjoyed an impressive start to their Dana Cup campaign in Denmark, with three wins in their opening three games.

We started off with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Norwegian side Floya, the highlight being a candidate for goal of the tournament from Jenny Webb who fired in from 25 yards.

The other goals came from captain Kayleigh Hines, Danielle Puddefoot and a brace from under 14 international Fran Kirby, who is playing in an under 17 tournament despite being three years younger than her peers!

The second game was a similar story with the Royals dominating another Norwegian side, EIK.

Sahara Osborne Ricketts opened the scoring and Kirby added another, with further goals from Katie Allen, Lauren May and Puddefoot sealing another 5-0 win.

The third game resulted in a 9-0 rout against Danish host side Lundergaard, with the Royals producing a superb display.

Director of Women's Football Lee Herron said, "With more than 850 teams here this is a great festival of football and we have been getting rave reviews from all so far."
