Hundreds of Young Royals visited the Megastore during the recent school holidays to celebrate spring in style!

As always Kingsley was on hand to entertain the crowd and hand out goodies! Lots of youngsters had their faces painted to look like our fantastic friendly lion, with others opting for the Reading FC crest or blue and white hoops.

Many young fans put their shooting skills to the test in the inflatable speed cage with some winning Reading FC team posters signed by the players.

A number of members pre-registered for a behind the scenes look around Madejski Stadium and thoroughly enjoyed the chance to visit the dressing room to see where the players prepare on a matchday. It was certainly a highlight for Jake and Alex Pearce, they said "Thank you for our stadium tour, it was wicked!"

Royals left-back Nicky Shorey and star striker Shane Long visited the event to meet the Young Royals, pose for photos and sign lots of autographs! The young fans were delighted to meet their heroes; Shane had previously appeared at the Young Royals Lucky 50 Forum and recognised some of the members!

Liam, Jade and Hannah Scott thoroughly enjoyed the event; they commented "Meeting Nicky Shorey and Shane Long will be long remembered. Especially as Shane remembered Jade from the previous week!"

As well as the other treats, a Reading FC football signed by the players and Steve Coppell was up for grabs in the Young Royals prize draw. Congratulations to Sam Rosier, his entry was selected at random by Kingsley after the activities! Sam visited the Stadium the following day with his brother to pick up his excellent prize! Well done Sam!

Judging by lots of smiling faces the young fans had a wonderful day! Bethany and Matthew Pope added "We were very impressed with the way everything was organised and especially with the friendly manner the players greeted all the Young Royals, they made us feel special!"
